Ohoh... it was so clear that sooner or later I will be punished by some

I did quickly build master (with my changes) here... Linux and
Windows... did the same simple tests as you did... results attached...
Looks fully ok.
Qt Version? I think I have 5.7 for Win, 5.5.1 for Linux.

The first part of the change we should try to undo is clearly the
property "html" back to old setup. Unfortunately I can't test it...
